» It's never too late...

It's never too late to join Pack 172 and we always have spots available for 1st through 5th grade boys. In addition, every May we invite Kindergarteners to join the Pack for our summertime activities. This is a great opportunity for these boys to get a head start on their Scouting experiences.

Currently, our Pack serves 51 boys and has 15 registered Adult Leaders. To foster friendships, each boy is assigned to small group, called Dens, of 4-8 scouts of the same age.

France was our first international visitor and we have recently had visitors from Canada, the UK and Austrailia. Now Scouts can we get a visitor from each of the 50 states? We were at 30+ states in Novermber '08.

Pinewood Derby

We Need Adult Volunteers

Folks - our Pack is Bigger and Stronger than ever, but we will soon be losing a lot of our Pack Leaders as their Webelos move up to Boy Scouts. Can you help run one event? Can you help by taking an open position? We want to continue to offer a top-notch program for all of our Scouts, so we need more parents to get involved. Want to learn some Knots?

Our Webelos met last night to start learning some of the knots they will need as young Boy Scouts - is your Scout interested? We found a great site:

click on "Scouting." The site walks you through the steps to make the common knots. Webelos should learn the Square, Bowline, Clove Hitch, Two Half-Hitches and the Taught Line.
